The Carbon Black supply chain has faced massive changes in response to the conflict between the Ukraine and Russia and sanctions to import raw materials from Russia.

Suppliers and customers have been forced to seek alternatives, mostly resulting in longer lead times.

Currently geopolitical tensions, tariffs and crises lead to uncertainties in global markets and result to businesses adopting a cautious approach, delaying investments which affects demands for raw materials, challenging supply chain risk management to prevent supply chain bottlenecks. In contradiction, the volatile market forces companies to review their supply chain strategy and forecast demands in close collaboration with the supplier, due to these longer lead times.

Furthermore, the direction of the dollar heavily impacts emerging market currencies and exchange rate risk for suppliers, whereas the global supply chains thrive on predictability. Tariffs create the opposite effect, often increasing costs for raw materials, finished goods, and logistics.

Despite all the challenging aspects PentaCarbon GmbH is positively looking forward extending successful and reliable partnerships with its’ customers.

We have extended our portfolio with new specialty carbon blacks such as: low PAH, food-contact compliant, fiber, pipe-/drinking water, pigment and conductive carbon black grades.
